Signa’s Business Process and Information Manager

What I Do Matters – The Data Guardian

Amid the fast-paced demands of daily work, lie silent guardians who protect and manage Signa’s ocean of data. At a critical time in Signa Group’s growth, Ian Gregorowski stepped in, bringing a unique blend of expertise in business processes, law, data governance, compliance, and risk management.

backyard.

The combination of reading, play, toys, being creative, movies, and music shaped his teens and led him to his interest in archaeology, and historic sites.

Ian’s journey to becoming Signa’s Business Process and Information Manager was rooted in a desire for growth and an eagerness to apply his knowledge of law and governance in a new way. Though he initially faced some technical challenges, Ian’s dedication and drive helped him overcome them. “There were technical areas I wasn’t familiar with, but with training and mentorship, I managed the learning curve,” he reflects.

Beyond his professional role, Ian is known for his intellectual curiosity and passion for

continuous learning. An avid reader and talented writer, he even won first place in Signa’s Valentine’s Poem contest. Outside of work, Ian embraces life’s simple pleasures: long walks and deep conversations with his wife, exploring new places, surfing, exercising, and tasting new foods—though a few dishes have made it to his “never again” list.

In his role as Business Process and Information Manager, Ian supports Signa Group’s vision of “Preparing Africa for a Working Future.” “Our goal is to keep Signa compliant with data protection laws. By securing our data, we ensure it’s managed responsibly and effectively, contributing to stronger business outcomes.” His responsibilities include guiding the company through transformation, identifying process gaps, and collaborating closely with department heads— a role that relies heavily on mutual trust. For Ian, trust is foundational to both his personal and professional philosophies. “People and change management are always challenging because every person and company has unique dynamics,” he notes.

Ian’s outlook on life is shaped by a piece of advice from his father: “Be curious. When you’re curious, you’ll never stop learning, and you’ll be less likely to judge others. You never know what someone else might be going through.”
