My story

I discovered Signa Academy after losing my job at Zishap, where I worked as a facilitator and assessor. I was interested in the Business Practice Level 1 qualification and enrolled in 2013. I worked hard and was offered the opportunity to work as a receptionist. Then, I got promoted to training admin, where I dealt with learner assessments and recruitment, and in 2015, I got promoted to key accounts administrator, handling clients, payroll, contracts, and onboarding. I am very proud of my work ethic, which has helped me achieve my latest promotion, in February 2018, to ETQA Manager at the Randburg and Olifantsfontein Campuses.

How my life has changed

My son was just two years old when I became unemployed. Six years later, due to Signa, I can afford to place him in a private school, and I have just bought my first car.

My future

I am passionate about sharing information with learners, and I aspire to be a mentor and coach while developing material and moderating. This year, Signa has awarded me a bursary to further my education, and I have selected a 3-year National Diploma in Occupational Education Training and Development. I hope to grow further, learn more about the industry, and ultimately be an advisor for Signa Group.

My advice

Grab any opportunity with both hands, work hard, and know where you are going in life. Always know that someone is watching and will appreciate your hard work. Also, if you are willing to learn and face challenges, you will grow.

What Signa means to me

I have grown so much since 2013. I am thankful for the opportunity Signa has given me and for the recognition I’ve received for my hard work. I love my job because it challenges me and because I learn something new every day.

The Power of One

Puleng was able to send her son to a private school through our empowering programme. His education will improve his employment opportunities, and when he joins the South African workforce, he can contribute to the economy. The Power of One has changed Puleng’s life. In turn, she has made a big difference in her son’s life, and now he will also be empowered to make a difference.
