Who we are:
The Signa Academy Trust is an educational body that was established in 2013 to enable training for black female South Africans. It was named after founding member – Signa Group.
The trust funds its operations from donations and dividends from its shareholding in four different entities. It is selective on shareholding participation in applicants, as it has the primary objective to protect the interest of its students and sponsors.
As a shareholder, the trust enjoys B-BBEE recognition of 100% black woman ownership, because of our beneficiary base. The projects sponsored by the trust are dependent on shareholder dividend or other investments.
The trust is managed by Cantilever, an independent trust manager, and is audited and B-BBEE rated annually. All running, financial or statutory expenses of the trust are covered from a 15% annual management fee on all payments into the trust.
